Bill Spirer

Founder & Executive Director

Bill Spirer is the Founder and Executive Director of Springfield Prep. Bill is an educator, attorney, and Teach For America (TFA) alum with extensive experience in urban education and family advocacy.  In 2012-2013, he completed the Building Excellent Schools Fellowship, a yearlong, comprehensive training program on school design and leadership. He was Springfield Prep’s Head of School from 2015 to 2018 before becoming Executive Director.  Prior to Springfield Prep, Bill was a high school history and government teacher and a child welfare attorney with the Massachusetts Committee for Public Counsel Services.  He earned a BA at Bates College, an MST in Education at Pace University, and a JD at Brooklyn Law School, where he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law and Policy.
